JOIN PRSA ACCREDITATION DUES APPLICATION

We Invite You to Join Us

The four most common membership questions are:

  1. Who is eligible to join?
  2. How much does it cost?
  3. How do I apply?
  4. Who do I talk to about membership?
  5. What's the difference between being a member and participating as a guest?

1.  Who is eligible to join PRSA?

An individual who devotes a substantial portion of time to the paid professional practice of public relations or to the teaching or administering of public relations courses in an accredited college or university is eligible for membership. (Note: Students may attend any of our Chapter meetings.)

2.  Membership Dues

You have the opportunity to join the Society as a Member, Associate Member or Group Membership. Detailed information is on the Society Web site.

No matter which you choose, the words PRSA Member on your letterhead and business card tell your clients -- and your peers -- that they're working with someone who is committed to delivering only the best!

Local Chapter Membership:

Our Chapter dues is collected by the National office, so please enclose your Chapter dues with your application:

  • Member:  $60 annually
  • Associate:  $40 annually (after two years, associate members are automatically upgraded to members).

Professional Interest Section Membership:

Professional Interest Sections are designed to focus on important public relations issues, trends and research in a specific area of practice.

In addition to the benefits of regular membership, Professional Interest Sections strengthen your expertise (and marketability) through seminars, workshops, conferences, newsletters, professional papers, listservs, websites, and more - all focused on your unique environment.

5. What’s the difference between being a member and participating as a guest?

Both members and guests are welcome at most – if not all – of the events hosted by our chapter. So you may be wondering, “Why would I spend the money on PRSA dues when I can attend most events without being a full-fledged member?”

PRSA has put together a list of membership benefits, which might help you see why membership in the world’s largest organization for public relations professionals is more than worth the investment.

Official chapter members also receive additional benefits that non-members don’t. Guests do not have access to the Member Area of our chapter Web site. The member area is where we list open jobs we know about and provide access to our membership database – which gives you the contact info for all the other members with whom you may want to network.

Members are also the only folks allowed to participate in our LinkedIn group, which allows for even more dynamic networking and idea-sharing opportunities.

In addition, only  members are eligible to become involved on our board of directors and steering committees. If you're looking to enhance your resume with leadership activities, PRSA is a great place to do so. But you have to be a member to be eligible!

Though you can not join the Northeast Wisconsin chapter without joining PRSA National, you can join PRSA National without joining the local chapter. If you’re considering this route, know that non-chapter members are still considered guests by the chapter. And remember, guests pay $30/meeting; members pay only $20.

We are confident the great benefits of chapter membership will convince you to join this fun local chapter!
